It’s a known fact that many hunt dogs are very persistent in chasing the prey and don’t want to stop under any circumstances even when the animal has passed on to another hunt team’s lands or even into another country. That’s the reason why many Garmin users are worried about keeping their dogs “in the picture”. Their hunting time might get cut off to a rough stop and they have to start tracking down their own dog instead.
Huntloc dog GPS tracker uses a mobile network – therefore the distance between the dog and the owner isn’t a problem. It gives the owner an opportunity to continue the hunt even after their dog has gone on their own journey to track down the prey. Huntloc GPS also lets you track the dog with other people. There have been times when it seems as if the dog is coming out from the woods, but at the last moment turned around and went back.
That’s the reason why many long-time Garmin users have gotten a Huntloc tracker as well in addition to the Garmin tracker. One Jämtland dog owner who uses both – Garmin and Huntloc described one hunt near the Latvian border where his dog had taken off with deer and crossed the border into Latvia – as far as 25km. Thanks to the Huntloc dog tracker he had the info about his dog’s whereabouts. He continued his hunt with other hunt dogs who were still in the woods. In the evening they managed to track down the adventurous dog as well.
One time a hunting dog ended up on the highway during the hunt and got picked up by bypassers who thought the dog had escaped from home. They took the dog to a shelter. Even though the hunter picked his dog up from the animal shelter he was always aware of where his dog was.
Some hunters have asked if they can use Garmin and Huntloc trackers together at the same time. The answer is yes – they don’t interfere with each other. More so – you don’t have to use two separate collars, because you can easily add a Huntloc tracker to Garmin’s collar.
