Huntloc newsletter 01.2026

26.01.2026

We would like to share information about the latest Huntloc developments and system updates.

1. New team feature in the Huntloc app
With the latest app updates, a new team feature has been added to Huntloc, making the management of hunting teams and hunting activities easier and more transparent.

The new view allows users to:

  • see their hunting teams and team members in one place

  • stay better connected with team members – call or send emails to all team members

  • join a hunt more smoothly, without manually entering a separate hunt code

The goal is to make hunting organization safer and more convenient.

In addition, the iOS app now includes:

  • a distance measurement indicator for the map center marker (red cross)

  • a map layer showing Estonian hunting area boundaries

2. Automatic removal of hunting event locations
Server-side automation has been added so that hunting event locations marked in permanent hunts are automatically removed 36 hours after they are added.
This helps keep hunting maps cleaner and prevents outdated information from accumulating.

3. Improvement related to “active” users in hunts
We are addressing an issue where some users remain in a permanent hunt for an extended period even though they are no longer sharing their location (e.g. they forgot to exit the hunt).
The goal is to ensure that only truly active hunters and dogs are displayed in the hunt, so that the information is as accurate and reliable as possible.
