Huntloc dog tracker control is done via phone calls and SMS commands.

| Place the device on a charger connected to the power supply | Power on (standby mode) and charging |
| SMS “1” | Start continuous tracking (the device sends location at a fixed interval) |
| SMS “2” | Start activity-based tracking (the device sends location when it is moving) |
| SMS “0” | Stop tracking mode, the device switches to standby mode |
| SMS “00” | Turns the device off |
| SMS “1XX” | Start continuous tracking with a custom interval, “XX” is the interval in seconds |
| SMS “reset” | Restart the device |
| SMS “fw” | Software update |
| SMS “95,number,1″ | Adds a new phone number that is allowed to call and send SMS commands to the device (i.e., an “authorized number”). Up to 5 numbers allowed |
| SMS “95,number,2″ | Removes a phone number that is allowed to call and send SMS commands to the device |
| SMS “94,imei” | Deletes all authorized numbers; after that, any phone number can control the device |
