Garmin dog GPSs are designed to track hunting dogs. The solution uses conventional radio communication with a normal tracking distance of about 2-5 km. A hunter who wants to see a dog must have a Garmin handheld GPS device. The solution uses its own base cards, which can be renewed for a fee.
